Last year, the British Dental Health Foundation spent the day with Boundaries for Life, a group aiming to save lives through early detection of major killers such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and mouth cancer.

The event took place at Lords Cricket Ground for the Royal London One-Day Cup Final and offered spectators a series of free health checks and simple healthy lifestyle advice on a wide range of issues. Fans had their blood pressure, body mass index and cholesterol levels taken and were also given the opportunity to see a dentist who performed a basic mouth examination.

The event and uptake of these was extremely successful, and as a result, a team of researchers at the University of Warwick are looking at a novel method of increasing the uptake of NHS health checks amongst patients aged 40-74.

Boundaries for Life are interested in finding out if you would be likely to attend a NHS health check at your local practice if you were given a free ticket to a cricket match or whether you would prefer to attend a health check at a cricket ground during a match if you were given a free ticket to attend the game.

Boundaries for Life are planning a study involving a number of GP practices and a number of cricket venues across the UK and would be grateful if you could take a couple of minutes to help us by filling in a very quick questionnaire.
