Runs, walks, cycles and swims Get active for a good cause! A sponsored swim, run or cycle never fails to impress everyone around you, which will only spur you on further! You can do it as part of a group or go it alone – whichever one you choose, doing it for Mouth Cancer Action Month would be absolutely fantastic. If you need any help find an event, or just want some help getting people to sponsor you for it, let us know. Email us at [email protected] and we will do everything we can! Mud runs If traditional marathons seem a bit mundane to you, you could try a mud run. You’ll be taking on gruelling obstacles, tackling tough terrain and running through thick mud – make sure you bring a change of clothes! Not only are they a great way of fundraising for Mouth Cancer Action but they also serve as great team-bonding activities. You’ll get to the finish line with a smile on your face and plenty of stories to tell! Extreme challenges This one is for the adrenaline junkies among you! Or perhaps you’re looking for a good reason to tick off something from your bucket list. Either way, raising money for awareness of mouth cancer is the perfect excuse to conquer your fears and gain a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the process. Another one of the benefits is that people tend to be more likely to sponsor you if you’re choosing to do something extreme like skydiving. It is something only a few people will do in their lifetime. With the support of friends and family, you could become one of them. Quiz night If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground, then you still have plenty of options to fundraise. Hosting a quiz night is another fun way of doing just that. You can get plenty of people involved, they can form teams, and all compete for bragging rights or any prizes you can give to the top performers. Make sure you get an entry fee from each team and let them know that their money is going towards a great cause. Sponsored pledge Doing a sponsored pledge really is a win/win for everyone. You have more motivation to give up a bad habit like smoking, drinking alcohol or snacking on unhealthy food and you raise money in the process. Friends and family will give you as much support as possible to stick to your guns and cut out whatever you decide. It can be difficult but if your up for the challenge, why not give it a try during November.
