Dr Nigel Carter OBE BDS LDS(RCS) - Chief Executive
Chief Executive of the Oral Health Foundation since 1997, Dr Carter was a previous Chairman and long term trustee of the Charity. Dr Carter has a strong interest and experience in public health and health promotion, holistically across all areas. The charity's role as co-ordinator of National Smile Month and Mouth Cancer Action Month, Dr Carter works with Health Departments of all four UK countries as well as representatives of major health, cancer, dental and medical organisations at the highest level.
As a trustee and Treasurer of the Royal Society of Public Health he has been involved in liaison and co-operation between the major public health bodies, RIPH, Faculty of Public Health and Register of Public Health Specialists.
Dr Carter is an experienced broadcaster and media spokesman giving over 500 interviews per year for print, radio and television.
Sharon Broom - Director of Operations

Sharon ensures the efficient organisation and administration of the office, manages the Dental Helpline and provides PA support to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees. Sharon also manages the Trustee Board meetings, AGMs and Strategic Planning sessions as well as overseeing the Foundation's accreditation process. Managing the head office in Rugby, Sharon produces business and strategy plans and makes sure all department managers are kept up-to-date with systems and procedures. Sharon also co-ordinates HR activities across the organisation to guarantee that managers and staff meet any agreed targets and deadlines. Sharon is responsible for ensuring the various projects carried out within the Oral Health Foundation are delivered to agreed timescales and customers' expectations.
Sharon loves cooking, reading and going on hot sunny holidays.
Dawn Thomas - Finance Manager

Dawn manages the Foundation's bank account and maintains sales, purchase and nominal ledgers. Dawn is in charge of the balance sheet and capital schedule. Dawn oversees the records of investment and capital portfolio and generally manages the charity's cash investments. She also produces an annual business plan and budget for the Oral Health Foundation.
Dawn is a keen runner and has completed the London Marathon three times. Dawn enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy and is a big Terry Pratchett fan.
Amanda Oakey - Director of Educational Resources

Leading the educational resources team, Amanda manages all educational resources from the Oral Health Foundation.
This includes marketing and selling existing products as well as purchasing and developing new resources. Amanda executes the creation and implementation of agreed projects is in charge of creating campaign products including National Smile Month and Mouth Cancer Action Month. She also is in charge of distribution of resources along with managing exhibition presentations. Amanda also looks after the Oral Health Foundation's website shop - www.educatingsmiles.org.
Amanda loves to paint, make silver jewellery, is a passionate film buff and is obsessed with her dog, a chocolate Labrador called Coco.
David Arnold - Communications Manager

David has been with the Oral Health Foundation for five years. As Communications Manager, he oversees the work of the charity's public relations department and press office while leading online services and communications strategies. David is responsible for the planning and development of campaigns such as National Smile Month and raises the importance of oral health in the political agenda.
Before arriving at the Oral Health Foundation in January 2010, David graduated with a BA (Hons) in Media Production from the University of Lincoln and then went on to do a Master's Degree in Print Journalism at Nottingham Trent, completing his NCTJ examinations. In 2012, David completed a CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations from Birmingham City University.
A sports fanatic, who likes to play the guitar, David is also the office's nutrition specialist.
Ket Hancock - Accounts Co-ordinator

Ket works alongside Dawn to help manage the charity's accounts and finances. Ket takes and process orders and liaises with customers while dealing with any customer queries. Ket processes monies received and reconciles the bank account on a daily basis, is responsible for the sales ledger and manages the debt collection process.
Before arriving at the Oral Health Foundation, Ket worked at the GEC for 10 years as Foundry accounts assistant.
In her spare time, Ket is a serial quizzer, is an addict of BBC Radio 4 show the Archers and has two pet snakes. She likes natural history, with David Attenborough and Patrick Moore her heroes.
Sarah Hollis - Finance Officer

Sarah assists Dawn and Ket in the Accounts Department. She maintains Supporter information on computer system and deals with any Supporter enquiries. She manages the administration for the charity's new online licensing programme.
Sarah started out at the Oral Health Foundation in the accounts department in 2002.
Away from the charity, Sarah enjoys taking her dog Dotty for walks, reading thrillers and knitting.
Becky Sollis - Sales & Marketing Executive

Becky oversees the booking and organisation of UK exhibitions and attends the same as part of her role within the Educational Resources arm of the Oral Health Foundation. Becky processes orders on the telephone and via email and is responsible for sourcing products for our catalogues and campaigns.
Becky has been working at the Oral Health Foundation since 2011.
Outside of work, Becky likes to go Coasteering and Camping and spending time with her family.
Emma Girard - Sales Administrator

As a part of her role within the Education Resource's department, Emma processes orders and is responsible for keeping the Oral Health Foundation shop up to date.
Emma started working for the Oral Health Foundation in April 2015.
Outside of work, Emma likes watching films and loves watching soaps and spending time with her family. Loves eating cakes and jelly sweets (in moderation).
Gavin Hawes - PR/Press Officer
Starting at the Oral Health Foundation in 2015, Gavin works within the PR department and is responsible for helping to communicate the foundation's key messages with the public and media.
Gavin graduated with a BA (Hons) in Media Studies from the DeMontfort University and before joining the charity worked within a press agency for more than five years.
A big traveller, outside work Gavin likes to explore new cultures around the world and back at home spends a lot of time watching cricket.
Selina Vegad - Office Administrator

Selina is the newest member of our team, joining us in January 2013. Selina is our office administrator and takes care of everything from our day-to-day operations, to the many generous donations we receive. Selina is also in charge of our events management, organising fantastic campaign launches at such venues as the Houses of Parliament.
Before arriving at the Oral Health Foundation, Selina took on secretarial and P.A roles.
In her own time, Selina enjoys arts and crafts, particularly designing and making her own cards, adores foreign holidays - especially Mexico - and loves holding chocolate parties for all her friends and family.
Karen Coates - Dental Advisor
Karen joined the Oral Health Foundation in 2005 as a Helpline Advisor. For the previous 10 years, she had worked for Sensodyne and CTS Dental Supplies as a Territory Manager. Before that Karen had worked for various dental practices in Warwickshire, including the NHS Associate Private Practice, and had completed the Certificate of Oral Health from Nottingham University and the National Certificate for Dental Nurses.
As a member of the helpline Karen needs to be aware of all current dental procedures, oral hygiene instruction and techniques and keeping abreast of all areas of technical developments using professional contacts and professional journals in order to provide up to date information. Karen is also media trained and alongside Dr Carter, conducts many interviews on behalf of the Foundation.
Karen is also the co-ordinator of The Tooth Whitening Information Group (TWIG) and is committed to informing and protecting the public against the dangers of illegal tooth whitening.
Out of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her two Bengal Cross cats. She is an avid fan of Game of Thrones. Winter is coming!
Louise Chidlow - Dental Advisor
Having wanted to be a dental nurse after completing work experience through high school, Louise started working at the dental practice she attended as a patient straight from school at the age of 16. Louise worked for both NHS and private practices and once qualified she also completed Dental radiography for dental nurses before joining the Oral Health Foundation in 2005. In addition to her role as a dental advisor on the helpline, Louise assists the Operations Director and maintains databases as well as being our resident first aider and fire marshal.
Louise also supports the marketing department in the creation of the 'Tell Me About' leaflets and has a public-facing role for the Foundation attending events, shows and health-fairs. Louise is also highly involved in organising the charity's two campaign launches for National Smile Month and Mouth Cancer Action Month.
Outside of the foundation Louise loves spending time with her fiancé, two sons and Dog, she is currently looking forward to completing a sky dive to raise donations for the foundation and is attempting to get fit by jogging and cycling to eventually complete a 'wolf run'.
Yvonne Lee - Dental Advisor
Yvonne has worked in dentistry over the last 30 years and enjoys keeping up to date with changes in the profession by attending dental events, courses and taking part in the campaigns organised by the foundation. Her experiences as a dental nurse and practice manager gives her the knowledge of how the profession works and how patients feel when they call the helpline for advice.
Hobbies include creating pieces of art, craftwork and ceramics. Holidays are an exploration of Britain's coastline which involves camping even in the rain.
