The British Orthodontic Society is delighted to be supporting National Smile Month. We strive to improve the quality of orthodontic care for patients and as such, this wonderful campaign that educates, motivates and communicates positive oral health messages and improves the quality of smiles all around the UK, is one with which we are closely aligned.

Many patients choosing orthodontic treatment to resolve problems with crowded and irregular teeth, also experience a concurrent improvement in cleaning and their oral health.  Orthodontics to straighten smiles, along with improving oral health, can have a vast impact on people’s wellbeing, and increasing self-esteem.

In 2019, in partnership with the Oral Health Foundation, the British Orthodontic Society launched Safe Brace, a trusted resource where patients can get independent and impartial advice about orthodontic treatment and getting braces. There are now more ways to straighten your teeth than ever before and being able to make an informed decision on which treatment to have is vital.

There is an obvious synergy between the work of the British Orthodontic Society, Oral Health Foundation and National Smile Month, and that is why we are supporting this campaign.
