Recently accredited by the Oral Health Foundation, our thumb and finger sucking solution helps to prevent painful and sometimes expensive dental treatment, caused by prolonged sucking. Thumbsie® is a fabric glove or thumb guard which is hand-made and sits over a child’s thumb or finger to stop them from putting their digit in their mouth. Children can choose their own fun fabric to wear and we even have a special story book to help children to stop sucking. We have hundreds of happy customers whose children have stopped sucking in a matter of weeks, often having sucked digits for years. As every dentist knows, if thumb or finger sucking is prolonged and/or aggressive, it may cause issues with the growth of the mouth and the alignment of child’s teeth, affecting their smile. Sucking can also cause changes in the roof of the mouth (palate) and can create speech problems, as well as chapped skin around the mouth and of course exposes a child to infection from germs and dirt transferred to the mouth by sucking. Thumbsie® offers a gentle and effective solution to help children give up digit sucking quickly and easily and help to preserve a beautiful smile. Dentists nationwide recommend Thumbsie® and we are delighted to work in partnership with many of them who endorse the work we are doing to help prevent avoidable dental work, both through our thumb sucking solution and our Thumb Sucking Clinics. We look forward to National Smile Month and putting a big grin on many more faces as children give up thumb sucking once and for all.
