Sharing a smile can be such a powerful thing to do.

It can be a sign of friendship, trust, togetherness and love.

It's also a sign of good oral health.

That's why, during National Smile Month, we want to collect as many smiles as possible - from all over the UK.

National Smile Month is the perfect chance to share your smile and promote the importance of having a healthy mouth.

How to take part

  • Take a picture of yourself smiling along with a positive smiley message and where the picture is being taken.

  • Alternatively, you can download and print a card we’ve designed and use that instead. You can download and print this message card here - Message Card (PDF) | Message Card jpeg.

  • You can also use one of our Facebook profile photo frames which can be found here - Red frame | Blue frame

  • Make sure to include the hashtags #SmileMonth and #Sharingasmile in your photo

  • For an example of an oral health message to include along with your smiley selfie see some examples below:

“A smile is one of the most powerful tools at our disposal. That’s why I’m sharing mine from [your town/city] as part of #SmileMonth #Sharingasmile”

A smile from me to you from [your town/city] for #SmileMonth #Sharingasmile”

“A healthy smile is so important which is why I’m supporting #SmileMonth and sharing a smile from [your town/city] #Sharingasmile”

“Studies have shown that maintaining good oral health reduces your risk of developing diabetes, heart disease and dementia. That is why I’m supporting #SmileMonth and sharing a smile from [your town/city] #Sharingasmile”

Making the world smile

Please share the message card, and the post with your family, friends and colleagues. You can even tag them in your post and challenge them to get involved that way.

We want to see people from across the UK share their smile....

...and see 100 smiles from 100 different towns or cities.
