News & blogs News Charity’s mouth cancer campaigning boosted by donation from TePe 21 February 2017 Leading dental health charity, the Oral Health Foundation have received a generous donation from TePe UK to help support its Mouth Cancer Action campaign. TePe UK raised £1,200 for the oral health charity by taking part in the Moveit4smiles pedometer challenge and by making a donation instead of giving Christmas cards to colleagues and customers. A cheque was presented to the Oral Health Foundation during the opening of TePe's new UK headquarters in Wells, Somerset. The generous donation will go towards the Oral Health Foundation's Mouth Cancer Action campaign and will be vital in helping to spread awareness and education of mouth cancer around the United Kingdom. TePe's UK General Manager, Jayne Lunnon, discussed their fundraising work: "We are very proud that our relatively small team managed to collectively notch up just under 200,000 steps in a five-day period as part of Moveit4smiles pedometer challenge, in order to support this valuable initiative. "We are always delighted to be able to support Mouth Cancer Action, the work they do in raising awareness of issues around mouth cancer, such as gender-neutral HPV vaccinations, is important to reducing number of mouth cancer cases in the UK." On receiving the donation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE, CEO of the Oral Health Foundation, said: "On behalf of the Oral Health Foundation I would like to thank TePe and their staff for their incredible generosity and support. "Regular donations are an important part of any charities fundraising efforts and vital to our work as we continue to do exceptional work in helping to improve the nation's awareness of mouth cancer. Donations such as this go a long way to ensuring we can continue to fulfil our ambitions." "I hope that the fantastic effort from TePe UK can help stimulate others within the Industry to similarly support the campaign. "In regards to mouth cancer I remain hopeful that we will finally get a decision this year on the gender-neutral vaccination, it will be a huge and necessary step to stopping the rapid increase in rates we are experiencing in the UK."
