Our Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategic direction of the Oral Health Foundation. They ensure we are doing all we can to reach, promote oral health and help improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world.

Our charity’s trustees are a group of passionate volunteers from many diverse backgrounds and sectors who meet to debate, choose and evaluate our strategies and policies while reviewing regular reports and updates about the charity’s on-going work.

Their range of expertise and desire to ‘do good’ while improving the landscape of oral health, gives us the very best guidance and support so that we can help millions of people around the world affected by dental diseases.

What is the role of a trustee?

The Board of Trustees is collectively responsible for overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing its aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing documents, legal and regulatory guidelines. It provides oversight of the Oral Health Foundation’s activities.

Trustees are accountable to the Charity Commission and play a vital role within the Oral Health Foundation as it pursues its mission to inform the public and campaign on important oral health issues. They also safeguard our charity’s assets – everything from our property to our reputation.

Our trustees are pivotal to providing the strategic guidance that steers the charity’s work, providing impartial advice, information and education. Decisions made by our Trustees set the direction for these activities and influence the success of its work.
