Jo’s Move it for Smiles Donate I had followed the story of the ‘MoveIt4Smiles’ campaign in Dental journals and it was at the Oral Health Conference in Wales last year that I found out more about it. I decided to jump on board for the last leg in Bla Bheinn to help raise awareness and also to take part in what looks like an awesome challenge with a great group of people. Let’s just hope I make it !By supporting Moveit4smiles you will help us to: Increase awareness of mouth cancer. Improve uptake of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination. Raise awareness about the importance of good oral health and hygiene, and the links towards general health. Increase awareness of dental hygienists and therapists and their role within the dental team. Please select a donation amount (required) £5 Allows us to provide at risk groups with a wide variety of literature around oral health topics and issues such as HPV, mouth cancer, smoking, smokeless tobacco, mouth ulcers and dry mouth. £10 Allows us to provide information on the major signs and symptoms of mouth cancer to those most at risk of the disease. Smoking and drinking to excess are two of the major causes of mouth cancer and by making people aware of this we can help them catch cases early. £20 Will go a long way to ensure we can continue to campaign for Mouth Cancer Action and HPV Action. We must reduce the number of lives lost to the disease - awareness around the risk factors and early diagnosis is key and your donation can help us achieve this.
