Take part

The waiting room is a valuable space. People often have time to read, watch or talk before their appointment. Smile Month provides ready-made ways to use that time well.

You might:

  • Display posters and leaflets.

  • Show short videos or slides on screens.

  • Provide quick tips or conversation starters.

  • Encourage patients to ask questions about their routines.

This can help people feel more prepared and confident when they go into their appointment. It can also make smile care feel like a normal topic of conversation.

You could also:

  • Use simple quiz questions or prompts.

  • Highlight one key habit on a noticeboard.

  • Offer take-home resources for families.

Small prompts in the waiting room can lead to useful discussions in the surgery.
