I’m sure we all know about blue Mondays. Those Monday morning blues after the weekend never quite seem to leave you.

For most mouth cancer patients, their cancer blues will almost never leave them. There will always be a reminder of what they went through every day. Whether it’s their speech, their ability to eat and drink, or even just the ability to breathe properly, there is no getting away from it.

For this year’s Mouth Cancer Action Month, we’re asking everyone to show their support by making Wednesday 13 November ‘Blue Wednesday’.

You can buy a blue ribbon badge, pick out something blue to wear or don on a bright blue lipstick. Help us to raise awareness of mouth cancer by showing your support.

How to take part in Blue Wednesday

Find something blue

Chances are you will have something blue in your wardrobe, but we’d like you to be more creative than that! Why not find something from a charity shop that raises money for cancer? You will be helping two great causes that way! To complete the look visit our web shop to get your hands on some blue lipstick too – even the boys – as it’s all for a good cause.

Blue wigs, face and body paint and other decorations are also really popular on Blue Wednesday, as are our blue ribbon badges. Give them a go!

Don't go it alone

Whatever your involvement, find a group of friends or persuade your work colleagues to do the same. The more people we can get involved for Blue Wednesday the greater chance we have to make an impact.

Send around an invitation for them to join you on 13 November for Blue Wednesday. You could even do it alongside a fundraising event for Mouth Cancer Action Month, and remember to take plenty of pictures!

Share your success

The best way to drum up lots of support for our cause and spread valuable messages around mouth cancer is to share your pictures on social media.

Show your followers what you are doing for Blue Wednesday by posting your pictures with #BlueWednesday.

Don't forget to include some information about mouth cancer alongside your picture.

Events such as Blue Wednesday are crucial if we are to catch more cases early. By making more people alert to the major signs, symptoms and causes of this terrible disease we can dramatically increase the number of people who are able to beat mouth cancer.
